Introduction

Double Attack Blackjack also has an exclusive side bet called ‘Bust It!’. You place your wager on the corresponding area along with your initial bet, and hope that the dealer busts. There are several payouts, depending on the card that busts the dealer – but keep in mind that in order for you to win the side bet, the dealer must go down. The overall house edge for Double Attack Blackjack when all the bets are tallied is.62%, just a little less player-friendly than conventional blackjack. Gun Play on the Side. Double Attack Blackjack also offers players a side bet called BustIt, or sometimes more affectionately, Buster. The bet is on a dealer bust of exactly three cards. You’ll find complete details for Double Attack Blackjack, including the correct basic strategy, on the appropriate page. Double Exposure. Double Exposure Blackjack is a variation where the dealer gets both her cards face up. This is a big bonus for the player, but there are lots of additional rules to compensate for this. The “gut feelings” strategy is a mix of playing with basic blackjack strategy but also having feelings. For example: “I’m going to stay on this 16, I just know the next card is a 10.” (I’ve seen my friend Bruce almost attack people for that statement. Double Attack Blackjack Strategy. Getting your hands on a standard Blackjack strategy chart can do wonders for improving your chances at the game. While you may not need to memorise it through and through, having it by your side as you practice can have you making better decisions and winning more. Generally, the tips of regular Blackjack apply.

To use the basic strategy, look up your hand along the left vertical edge and the dealer's up card along the top. In both cases an A stands for ace. From top to bottom are the hard totals, soft totals, and splittable hands. There are two charts depending on whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17.

Other basic strategy rules.

  • Never take insurance or 'even money.'
  • If there is no row for splitting (fives and tens), then look up your hand as a hard total (10 or 20).
  • If you can't split because of a limit on re-splitting, then look up your hand as a hard total, except aces. In the extremely unlikely event you have a pair of aces you can't re-split and drawing to split aces is allowed, then double against a 5 or 6, otherwise hit.

Ideally, the basic strategy shows the play which, on average, will result in the greatest win or the least loss per initial hand played. The way I usually go about this is to look at the initial 2-card hands only. Generally, this will result in the overall best play. However, soft 18 against a dealer ace when the dealer stands on soft 17 provides the only known exception that I am aware of for any number of decks. As my blackjack appendix 9 shows, a 2-card soft 18 vs A has an expected value of hitting of -0.100359, and of standing -0.100502. So with two cards it is very slightly better to hit. However, not all soft 18's are composed of two cards. The more the cards in the player's hand the more the odds favor standing. Simulations show that if forced to always hit or always stand, it is better to stand. I would like to thank Don Schlesinger for bringing this unusual play to my attention.

Double Attack Blackjack Strategy Cheat

I'm making my first ever trip to Atlantic City at the end of August; and I am curious about the new variation of 21 that they are offering there, Double Attack Blackjack. I am wondering if anyone has played it, has any thoughts on it, etc.
I'm not even sure which casinos have it. (Obviusly, that would be info I'd appreciate if anyone has it); but my understanding is that it works like this:
You place a bet like normal. Then the dealer shows you his or her upcard. At that point, you can make an additional bet up to the amount of the original bet. Once you get your cards, it plays like regular blackjack with the following exceptions:
You can double down (both wagers) at any point, on any total, with any number of cards, including after splitting. YOu also have 'Double Down Rescue', surrendering after doubling.
If you do split, you have to match both wagers.
You can surrender at any point, with any total, with any number of cards, except if the dealer has a natural.
Player's natural always wins, but pays only even money.
The ten cards are removed from the deck. All of the face cards are still in play; but there are no tens (just like Spanish 21).
There is also a 'bust0it' side bat where you wager that the dealer will bust in exactly three cards; and you get odds depending on what the third card is.
There is also a 50:1 bonus on the bust-it bet if the dealer gets three eights of the same color, and a 200:1 bonus for three eights of the same suit.
It is an eight deck shoe.
